SILK

Ate at SILK today and enjoyed some great food.  Had the barbecued baby back ribs with a honey hoisin glaze; the salad rolls with pork, shrimp, lettuce, bean sprouts, mint and vermicelli noodles rolled in rice paper; and the ginger chicken sautéed in a chili garlic sauce, green beans and fresh ginger.

Slabtown

Slabtown Ribs & BBQ, on Vaughn Street.  Had the triple play special of sliders today, and awesome baked beans.  Lots of choices, always good stuff!

Seres

Hot & Sour Soup, on a cold day such as this, with Mongolian Beef to round the meal out.  Sure it is Americanized Chinese food, but as such, it is very very good!

Bad SILK

So we went to SILK today for our Beef Stir Fry Bowls.  We didn’t get them.  We ordered them, but they aint what came out!!  It was a new waitperson, and she said:  “Oh, I thought you said beef-bo, but you really wanted beef-bowl?”  Yes!!  Three of us today ordered our beloved beef BOWLS and…

SILK

What can I say?  I am addicted to this stuff.  Crazy good.  They do not even bring out menus anymore.  You must try this dish!

Justa Pasta

Justa Pasta, on Northwest 19th.  The spaghetti and meatballs with chili garlic oil are to die for, and the Ceaser salad has so much garlic and so little dressing, it is perfect.  This place is terrific.  It would be nice to be able to sit down and have your order taken over a glass of wine, rather…

Seres

Good Chinese in The Pearl, Seres.  Hot and sour soup is very spicy.  The Mongolian Beef is so tender and full of flavor…so many onions!  Really good.

SILK

I have said it many times these past few months…the stir fried “beef bowl” at SILK is the best lunch in Portland.  It is so damn good!!!  Flavorful, fresh, spicy, savory, delicious, intense, and enormously satisfying.  I talked with our server today, and it seems the dish will finally be added to the permanent menu,…

Pumpkin Chicken Curry

Wow is this stuff good.  I almost always get a different dish when at this place…I eat there every week, at least twice.  But today, with fall in the air, something seemed really right about pumpkin curry!

Park Kitchen

Park Kitchen for lunch today.  Real treat.  In full view of the kitchen.  Started with the roasted red pepper and hazelnut soup, with olives and anchovies.  Followed with the flank steak salad, with blue cheese and sherry roasted onions.  Delicious!
