Had lunch at Isabel, in the Pearl. Chef Isabel Cruz serving a “blend of Puerto Rican, Cuban, Mexican, Japanese, and Thai cooking.” Okay. All I know is lunch was delicious, and I am coming back! Enjoyed a dish called Double Happiness. Crisp brown rice and seasonal vegetables with marinated beef and chicken and a side of peanut sauce. Of course had to get a side of chili paste, too. It was really good. The room’s side walls (glass doors) were opened, allowing fresh air and a breeze to enter the dining room. One of my lunch mates said he had been to Isabel several times for breakfast and that it is a must. He stressed that they make a very tasty Bloody Mary. I will have to have one!
