Little strip mall sushi joint with really good sushi…really.  Miyabi is the place, in Tukwila.  Fresh and well made.  I am stuffed.  Since my last visit, they have begun selling odd crap on the walls…little trinkets and things.  Got to make a profit any way you can, I suppose.

If you are ever in Twin Falls, must check out a place called Pandora’s (Named after the proprietor).  Very cool, old, industrial building.  Loved it.  For appetizers, we shared plates of edamame, shrimp cocktails, and “jalapeño bottle caps.”  Enjoyed a nice hefeivizen from Sierra Nevada.  Finished with a penne pasta that had fresh seasonal vegetables,…

The Snake

Early dinner in Twin Falls.  River far below is the Snake River.  Huge ravine.  Dinner included a rather pedestrian shrimp cocktail, pretty good seared ahi tuna, a salad, and hanger steak with garlic mash and veggies.  Much better than my lunch!!!

Park Kitchen

Finally made it to Park Kitchen.  Amongst other cold and hot plates we enjoyed Salt cod fritters with malt vinegar, Flank steak with blue cheese, parsley and sherried onions, and Semolina pasta with fava beans and duck liver.  All tossed down with a couple glasses of cold and crisp Pinot Grigio.  Will be back for…

The Deck

Eating great food at the Sister-in-law’s house on the deck. Cheers!

Last Meal

Some shots from my last meal in El Centro.  This stuff was great…oysters, ceviche, shrimp cocktails, and cold beer!

Had dinner last night at Higgins. 1239 Southwest Broadway Portland.  (503) 222-9070 Always a good meal here, so much so that—for me—it is a special event sort of place.  Love how you can see the kitchen right in the heart of the restaurant.  Love the windows.  The cozy feel to the whole joint.  Enjoyed…

Was torn last night as to where to go with spouse for dinner.  Really wanted the spaghetti and meatballs with chili oil, at Justa Pasta, but emailed Chef Roland and he said it would not be on the menu that night (very cool of the Chef to email-chat with a peasant such as myself).  So,…

John Barleycorn’s

Had dinner with the family at John Barleycorn’s, in Tigard.  Good ale, no doubt, and good pub food.  But as always, so very slow.  SO VERY SLOW.  Should have gone to the Bagdad instead!  It’s all good.

Jake’s Famous Crawfish

Oh so good and dependable.  I am always happy at Jake’s, but hey, who can complain with good wine, oysters, crab, smoked salmon, chowder, etc.  Yummy!
