Alaska

Not a bad breakfast for 32,000 feet up!

The Four Graces

We joined The Four Graces “wine club” today while enjoying a tasting.  Such a beautiful place, on a wonderful early sunny day, and the wine was delicious.  Truly look forward to attending some of their scheduled events this year and revelling in good food and wine.

Cookie

Best part of going to Grand Central Baking Company for lunch is bringing back my oatmeal cookie!

Breken

Used to be Sydney’s.  Some mixed reviews out there on the web.  Thought I’d give it a try.  Upside,  the place is hard to beat for open and airy, hip industrial chic.  Great “bones” to the cafe, no matter who is running it.  And my sandwich, well, it was delicious! Downside?  Yup.  Staff.  One word: Rude.  My food was “up”…

Besaw’s

Cobb Salad at Besaw’s is very good.  Nice pea soup, too.  Fun, narrow little place.  Outdoor seating looked good today, given the sunshine that keeps coming out.  Alas, we sat inside.

Higgins

Had dinner last night at Higgins. 1239 Southwest Broadway Portland.  (503) 222-9070   http://higgins.ypguides.net Always a good meal here, so much so that—for me—it is a special event sort of place.  Love how you can see the kitchen right in the heart of the restaurant.  Love the windows.  The cozy feel to the whole joint.  Enjoyed…

Justa Pasta

Even after the meatball fiasco of the other week (what, I never wrote about that?), I still swear by this place.  Perhaps the customer service needs a smidge of help, but the food, well, the food is great.  Sausage, peppers, and goat cheese lasagna today, with a Caesar salad, of course.

Morning

Downtown coffee and oatmeal.
