Industrial Cafe & Saloon

Industrial Cafe & Saloon…on Vaughn.  Small room, open and bright.  Homestyle food, good portions, and average costs.  Had the Chicken Pot Pie which was only okay (Some veggies were undercooked and the big honkin’ bisquit on top is a poor replacement for pie crust).  I would come back though…the sandwhiches and burgers looked great.  Also, I…

Besaw’s

Nice meal today at Besaw’s. Founded in 1903, and the first restaurant in Oregon to get a liquor license after prohibition (1916). Known as being a place for “a pleasant drink, a scrumptious meal and lively conversation.” Heck of a Cobb salad!    http://www.besaws.com

More Pasta

Justa Pasta / http://www.justapasta.com Back for more great pasta.  Best lunch I have had in weeks.  The bread is delicious.  The Ceaser salad is so full of garlic, it is the best I have ever had in my life.  The pasta dish with red sauce was spicy and flavorful.  It was bucatini with hot Italian…

The Dockside

The Dockside Saloon & Tavern A staple down in the industrial waterfront area.  Only going to show that with enough hot sauce, anything can be edible.  I won’t say anything else.

Podnah’s

Podnah’s Pit Barbecue http://podnahspit.com 1469 Northeast Prescott Street / Portland / (503) 281-3700 Real good BBQ.  Little hole in the wall joint.  Great reviews.  Very authentic.  Sauce was great, pulled pork was awesome.  The potato salad was delicious…reminded me of my Mom’s.  Even the old time Coke (Sugar, not High Fructose) was cold, sweet, and…

Grand Central

Back again.  Nice sunny day, so ate outside on a bench.  Ham Toastie and chips with a pickle.  Good stuff.

SILK Again

More good food from SILK in the Pearl.  Pork meatballs, Ginger Chicken, and Lemon grass Chicken.  Plus, they brought back their homemade iced tea, after a few months of bottled stuff.  Yuck!  Good call going back to the by-scracth tea.

Thai

Peemkaew Thai (503) 621-3164‎ / 323 Northwest Park Avenue, Portland, OR This place is good every day of the week.  It is like an addiction, and no, they do not serve MSG, so that is not the trick.  Just really good Thai food!
